This story is about a pregnant Columbia teen that wants
to immigrate to the US - and becomes a drug mule to do
so. Catalina Sandino Moreno portrays Maria as a smart
but confused teen with an unrealistic and naive idea of what life in America will be like even as she travels to New York with over 60 pellets of cocaine in her stomach.
This story was heartbreaking because it provided (what I would think) is a very realistic portrayal of what drug trafficking is like - both in the United States and other countries. This movie definitely made me appreciate how fortunate I am.
End.
